Justin Dangel: CEO & CO-FOUNDER

Justin Dangel created Consumer United in late 2007 and has cultivated its growth from just a few employees in a small office to over 300 employees across multiple locations. Consumer United was named one of the ‘Top 10 Fastest Growing Companies in Insurance’ by Inc. Magazine in 2012.

Prior to Consumer United, Justin was Founder and CEO of Voter.com where he helped create the most popular independent political channel on the Internet with more than 3.5 million monthly users and 500,000 newsletter subscriptions. He led a team that developed strategic partnerships with Microsoft, NBC, CNN, the AFL-CIO, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the National Democratic and Republican parties and several others.

Earlier in his career, as an analyst with Hambros Advanced Technology Trust in London, Justin evaluated hundreds of business plans and worked with dozens of portfolio management teams in early-stage venture capital such as the Russian Technology Fund in St. Petersburg, Russia, and The Ukraine Fund, in Kiev, Ukraine. His political and public service background includes both volunteer and work positions with the United States Treasury Department, Senator Edward Kennedy’s office and Senator Joseph Biden’s office.

Justin has spoken at numerous events and conferences across the country, including the World Economic Forum in Washington. Justin is a graduate of Duke University with a degree in Political Science.

Casey Gustus: COO

Casey Gustus has served as the Chief Operating Officer of Consumer United since 2010. As COO, he leads the sales, marketing, product and technology operations of the organization during its rapid growth. Under Casey’s leadership the company has grown by more than 300% each year.

Casey has extensive experience as an entrepreneur, and working with many successful online companies including financialaid.com where his marketing and business development activities generated over $500M in student loans annually, CampusDirt.com the number one online college search site, EDLOAN, Climber.com a fast growing job search company, and many more. He is experienced in all aspects of digital operations, marketing and product development with a strong focus on direct-response marketing and user/consumer acquisition by leveraging technology in new and imaginative ways.

He is a graduate of Gettysburg College with a degree in Business Management.


As President of Insurance at Consumer United, Lou Geremia leads the growth of the country’s top online insurance agency. He came to Consumer United from Bankrate where he managed NetQuote, InsureMe, Insweb and other insurance brands totaling more than $200M in annual revenue and 20% growth per year.

Lou also co-founded and served as president of Insurance.com where he successfully managed the company’s growth, profitability and sale. Assuming the position of Director after the sale, he managed all new business development, major marketing partnerships and other revenue generating relationships.

Prior to Insurance.com, Lou served as a Senior Vice President at both Fidelity Investments and Chase. At Fidelity, he developed the model and business plan for insurance.com. At Chase, he built and managed a new business development group that fostered long-term partnerships with banks, insurance companies, brokerage firms and other affinity groups to market credit cards to their customers.

Lou received his undergraduate degree from Colby College and earned an MBA from the Carnegie Mellon University Tepper School of Business.


Joshua S. Levine joined Consumer United in 2013 as President of Operations. His primary responsibility is to execute the vision of the company.

Prior to joining Consumer United, Josh spent many years in financial services. From 1999 - 2006, he was the Chief Technology and Operations Officer of E*TRADE FINANCIAL, where he was responsible for global technology, operations and customer service. Prior to that, Josh was a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley and at Deutsche Bank.

Josh serves on several corporate and non-profit boards, including FreshDirect and DonorsChoose.org. He served as a member of the National Academies "Committee on Improving Processes and Policies for the Acquisition and Test of Information Technologies in the Department of Defense", is a former advisory board member to the National Counterterrorism Center in the Department of National Intelligence and a former member of the Georgia Technology Authority.

Josh's many industry awards include InfoWorld's "Top 25 most influential CTO's," CIO Magazine's "CIO 100," a "Webby" for the best banking and bill pay on the internet and a People's Choice award at the 2012 South by Southwest (SxSW) conference (previously awarded to Groupon).
