  1. Frequently Asked Questions

Our goal is to offer members a collection of cost-cutting tips, insider analysis and Consumer United-crafted research. The people who join our network are ordinary consumers, folks like you, who have come together to identify the best service providers, negotiate better deals and simplify their lives.

Here are a few frequently asked questions:

    Q.1 What is Consumer United?

Consumer United is a savings-driven consumer group designed to help people identify the best service providers, save money and simplify their lives. We do the work of negotiating deals and providing you with advice and knowledge to help you become a smarter consumer.

Q.2 How much can I save?

There’s no limit to the savings. It depends on how willing you are to make saving a part of your lifestyle and what you are already doing to reach your savings goals. We estimate that the average family can save over $1,000 a year by making use of the tools and knowledge we provide.

Q.3 How do the Consumer United discounts work?

Consumer United selects the best service providers and negotiates better deals for our members. Most of the time, when you buy anything at all, part of what you’re paying for is the cost of advertising. We bring customers to providers, so instead of spending money on advertising and customer acquisition, companies can pass on their savings in the form of discounts. As a group, we bring a large volume of customers to providers so we get better deals together. It’s like bulk-buying basic services except you get lower rates instead of five gallons of hand soap.

Q.4 Do you sell member information to other companies?

We promise that we will not sell your data to any third party. See our Privacy Policy for more information.

Q.5 What does it cost to be a member?

Membership is currently free. Tell your friends!

Q.6 Will I be charged a fee if I switch to a new provider?

Consumer United will not charge you any fees for switching, but check the terms of the agreement you have with the original service provider. Service providers may charge you a fee for switching, but Consumer United will not.
